A Marine Antenna Mount is a mechanical
device that is designed to maintain specific antenna orientation in relation to
the marine vessel. Marine Mounts must be very heavy duty, and capable of
withstanding the mechanical forces generated as the vessel moves through the
water. Another form of Marine Antenna Mount is a Marine RADAR Mount which
has a similar function in relation to holding the RADAR antenna in it's mounted
position.
Physically, an antenna is an arrangement of
conductors that generate a radiating
electromagnetic field in response to an applied alternating voltage and
the associated alternating
electric current, or can be placed in an electromagnetic field so that
the field will
induce an alternating current in the antenna and a voltage between its
terminals.
