The Furuno PG700 is a NMEA2000 Rate Compensated Heading Sensor used to provide stabilized heading for North up orientation, radar overlay and echotrail.  PG700 comes with a 6 meter, double-ended NMEA2000 Micro Cable, an L-Shaped mounting base to mount on the bulkhead, and can provide magnetic bearing data output to the Furuno CAN bus device.

The Furuno PG700 should not be installed in an area of your vessel where water can collect or where temperatures drop to 5 degrees or are higher than 131 degrees.  The best place to install the PG700 is near the center of gravity to the hull.

Automatic Determination for Optimal Installation

The Furuno PG700 comes with the ability to automatically detect whether a position on your vessel is suitable for installation.  It's recommended to install near the center of gravity to the hull to avoid excessive vibrations in other areas that can cause inaccurate readings.
