How Net Sounders Work
Traditional echo sounders send a sound pulse downward and receive a reflection from the sea bottom or schools of fish. In contrast, net sounders use similar acoustic principles but are designed to monitor water columns and fish activity in front of and around the net. They relay data via cable or wireless telemetry to onboard displays in real time.
